Angus, Thongs and Full-Frontal Snogging

By Louise Rennison. Angus: My mixed-breed cat, half domestic tabby, half Scottish wildcat. The size of a small Labrador, only mad. Thongs: Stupid underwear. What's the point of them, anyway? They just go up your bum, as far as I can tell. Full-Frontal Snogging: Kissing with all the trimmings, lip to lip, open mouth, tongues Her dad's got the mentality of a Teletubby only not so developed.

Her cat, Angus, is trying to eat the poodle next door. And her best friend thinks she looks like an alien -- just because she accidentally shaved off her eyebrows. Still, add a little boy-stalking, teacher-baiting, and full-frontal snogging with a Sex God, and Georgia's year just might turn out to be the most fabbitty fab fab ever!

Page 1 of 1. I could see the appeal but I thought it could be funnier. Or less self-centered. I read the Georgia Nicolson books back in high school and they are still as hilarious today as they were then. I absolutely love this entire series.

The situations that Georgia finds herself in as she grows up and enters the world of dating are at the same time ridiculously implausible and somehow very similar to the experiences we all had at this age. I literally laughed out loud with every page. This book is like Bridget Jones' diary 16 years prior.

It's a nice homage to 14 year old girls every where or any woman who remembers what it's like to be at such an awkward stage.

It doesn't matter that Georgia is British. Her Britishness actually adds to her charm. Any woman or teen girl can identify with Georgia and her friends. All girls worry about snogging or kissing. All girls worry about their skin and makeup or what they're going to wear at that life changing party. It's all part of going through adolescence and crosses cultural boundaries. Georgia, her friends and her cat Angus are hilarious. They make me glad that I survived those years with my sanity in tack.

I highly recommend this for any teen girl or even woman in need of a good laugh. I really enjoyed this book! I don't have much to stay about it as it's not very deep or anything but it was really fun to read. Georgia's voice is very distinctive and her diary entries are very witty. I loved her over dramatic reactions to her life. I read this in one sitting and really liked it. It was a very light and amusing read and I'm looking forward to reading the second in the series.

Brigit Jones meets Adrian Mole. Teen diary that is silly, funny, in some places witty and in others almost slapstick hilarious. All in all a pretty authentic voice of a wisecracking teen girl who is worried her nose isn't attractive enough and is certain her parents are stupid and possibly insane.

I chuckled in places and found Georgia fairly charming. Her little sister even more so. Got a little bored with the boy crazedness, yeah I know teenage girls are boy crazed, but would have liked her to have at least one other thing she was occasionally interested in. Still, it was a pretty good laugh most of the way through.

This book was heart when I read it as a young teen and it was just as charming and funny the 2nd time around. My life as a teenager was nothing like Georgia Nicholson's. I never got in trouble at school, I never shaved my eyebrows off, I wasn't allowed to go to parties, and I didn't keep a wild cat named Angus around my house.

This fictional British teenager has tons of drama and unfortunate events to go around. From stalking her older crush's girlfriend to seeking the help of a "professional kisser," Georgia can't help but find trouble wherever she goes.

I had always seen this book around when I was a kid, but I never read it. I'm so glad I finally did! It was definitely laugh-out-loud funny. Will I read the next books in this series? It's not a priority but the next time I want a quick and funny read, I'll be sure to consider it.

This book is one of my favorites from the series. This series is about a girl named Georgia growing up in England who tells stories through her journal.

This book is hilarious and at some points I even found my self laughing out loud! The main character Georgia is hilarious even when she doesn't mean to be. This book is a very relatable book and is great for tweens to teens. I found that as the series continues the plot developed and became more complicated. Also the series is one big story broken up into ten different books so I would definitely recommend reading the entire series. I would also recommend this book to anyone looking for a fun, quick and light read.

Funny, irreverent, light, and entertaining. Georgia, the spunky main character is often self-centered and dramatic, and says the kinds of things a lot teens and maybe adults, too?

Her hilarious misfortunes like accidentally shaving off her eyebrows are endearing. Hilarious laugh out loud funny, a little worrisome considering the ages of the characters in light of the events but entertaining nonetheless. In journal format, Louise Rennison channels the thoughts and describes the goings-on of a very funny, and very believable year old English schoolgirl. The humor holds up very nicely in , even for older women. Georgia is filled with year old angst that should reassure or at least amuse any young female readers who worry about their imperfections, their family, their friends, their love life—and maybe even their teachers—that all anxiety is normal.

Georgia falls hard for year-old Robbie the "Sex God"—though all they ever do is kiss. Another bit of authenticity is the quick way she gets annoyed with her close friends, and forgives them on a dime. Target audience ages I expected a rather silly YA novel about a whiny teenager's life, but this is surprisingly cute and Georgia is so much funnier than anyone else I've read in a while - she's like a young Bridget Jones sans the alcohol, obviously.

I usually write fairly decent reviews for books, but there just isn't much to say about this one. It's an average, albeit cute, YA adult novel. If it didn't have the British flair that it has, it would probably be far more forgettable as I'm sure there are a plethora of "diary-style" books on the market for teens to read. I remember loving these books when I was a teenager myself, but as an adult I don't get the same feeling for it as I once did.

Though, now I see it more as a teen version of Bridget Jones' Diary which is a book I continue to love over the years.

I imagine most young teen girls would enjoy this book and the rest of the series. Three stars.

Angus Thongs Books In Order

April 12 Before I read this book, I had read some reviews which had me wondering if this one would be something I'd like, reviews from people whose opinions I trust. You don't have to be a teenager to appreciate the humorous and often self-absorbed ravings found in year-old Georgia Nicolson's diary, but it certainly helps. As the title implies, Georgia has snagged herself a sex god in the form of Robbie, the boy of her dreams. Now that they've indulged in a bit of "full-frontal snogging," Georgia turns her attention to advancing the relationship. But things quickly go wrong when she learns that her father's new job may necessitate a move to New Zealand.

Brilliantly funny, teenage angst author Louise Rennison's first book about the confessions of crazy but lovable Georgia Nicolson. Now repackaged in a gorgeous.

As the titles indicate, Georgia Nicolson's diaries of contemporary adolescent life in middle-class England are aimed at hilarity.
