National Trust teams up with the Environment Agency

Team EA in perfect North Cornwall weather

Last Thursday, two champions of the environmental world teamed up to take on the scrub challenge on National Trust land near Polzeath. With the rain pouring down we gathered in the car park at Lundy Bay, wondering if the Environment Agency were going to turn up as planned. But just as the clock struck ten, our arranged meeting time, nine waterproofed volunteers assembled bringing with them some dry weather and plenty of enthusiasm all the way from their office in Bodmin.

As you would expect, these guys got fully stuck in and made a massive dent in the gorse and blackthorn we had planned to clear in an attempt to improve the coastal grassland habitat and increase biodiversity.

Thanks again to the team from the Environment Agency for offering their time and energy to come and help out.

If you think your employer would be interested in letting your team join us for a day of team building or corporate volunteering with the National trust in North Cornwall, we would be happy to chat through the options with you. Contact me on 01208 863821 or email tom.sparkes@nationaltrust.org.uk.
