Introducing Eric!

Hopefully you have all been enjoying the lovely weather over the last few weeks and have managed to get out and about exploring North Cornwall! We spent a beautifully sunny Sunday cleaning Northcott beach and Maer Cliff, near Bude. Thank you to all our volunteers for donning their hats and sun cream and coming along to help out.

If you have taken a stroll through Minster Wood recently you may have bumped into its latest resident – Eric the Wonky Tree!

He took up residence in early April; one of several very large wind blown trees that came down in the wood earlier this year. We decided to make the best of the situation and after a bit of brain storming and chainsaw manoeuvring Eric was created. If you haven’t had the pleasure of meeting him yet why not use the bank holiday weekend to go and introduce yourself.

  1. I was away otherwise would have gladly helped. We have been wanting to remove some large items from this beach for a long time. Didn’t realise you would go so far along the beach but it’s brilliant, because what we call ‘crap cove’ at Maer is completely clear of rubbish. It’s quite a dangerous cliff area and any attempts have been thwarted in the past. Well done all!
