Don’t know what the local drivers must have thought when they met this on the Cornish back-lanes a couple of weeks ago. However, @rangerchrisnorthcornwall and the ranger team are very pleased to see this lorry because it dropped off a large bundle of sweet chestnut fencing which we will use on our sites. With the use of oak timber for kissing gates, stiles and steps, it should mean minimal use of tanalised timber and more durable hardwoods. #timber #hardwood #sweetchestnut #fencing #lorry #stowebarton #northcornwall #nationaltrust - #regrann

Sunday 17 June Picnic with the Rangers at Trevose Head 12.30pm – 3.30pm Bring along your picnic and join the rangers for an afternoon of picnicking, hunting for bugs, looking at the plants they eat and live on, and a rocky shore explore. Feel free to bring along kites, footballs, or whatever games you feel like! Rocky shore explore suitable for older children and adults as scrambling over rocks involved. No crocs, flip flops, bare feet, or nets. Find us in the meadow near the top car park. Free. (Parking charge applies, free to National Trust members). Tuesday 12 June: Trevose Head – common ragwort digging, spraying and pond surveys. Bring wellies if you have any for the pond surveys, we’ll have nets, trays and id books. The purpose of the surveys is to see what we already have there and this can indicate the health of the pond. From this we can decide what management is required, if any, to improve the health and biodiversity of the pond. Meet at the office at 9am, or Wadebridge roundabout at 9.15am, or Trevose Head summer car park at 9.45am

Monday 11 June: 2 Minute Beach Cleans - cleaning up beaches in North Cornwall. National Trust Rangers will be at various beaches between Tintagel and Holywell between 10am and 12pm on Monday 11 June with bags and gloves for everyone, talking about 2 Minute Beach Clean, beach litter, the effects on us and the environment, and how everyone can get involved – starting with a 2 Minute Beach Clean while they are there. The beaches the rangers will be at are: Tregardock, Port Gaverne, Baby Bay and Booby’s Bay.
