A massive thank you to everyone that came down to help with the Strangles beach clean on Sunday. An eager team of 29 volunteers helped clean up the rubbish left on the beach by the recent storms. The sun was shining and the rain held off to create perfect beach cleaning conditions.
We can only apologise that there wasn’t enough rubbish to keep everyone occupied all day! The sea had reclaimed much of what had been washed up in the recent storms to leave a relatively clean beach. However I think we were all very grateful that there wasn’t mountains of netting when it came to lugging the rubbish back up the cliff. There was a small rock fall while we were down there, so if you are on the beaches of North Cornwall in the next few weeks just be aware of crumbling cliffs!
A wonderful lunch was kindly provided by Sally, Chris and Anna Searle of The Old Refectory at St Juliot. The sausages made from their own free range pork were delicious and very welcome!
