Name that Moth

The ranger team and volunteers have been out in the heat today, battling with the bracken and bramble determined to smother our footpaths. We’ve managed to clear the path all the way down to the rocky beach at Porth Mear near Porthcothan. Its a great spot for rockpooling at low tide, or just escaping the crowds.

Can you name this little fella who we saw on the way?

Nice one Jonathon, i’d never seen one before either so quite pleased to make his acquaintance! Apparently its main habitat is marshy areas and riversides with its main food plant being grass and reeds. We saw it near a reedbed, where did you find yours?
