Coast Uncovered

‘Jane Anderson showing the entrance to Boscastle harbour with it’s lines of Quartz’

On a superb bright November day we were entertained by Jane Anderson on a ‘Cliffs and Coffee’ walk. After hearing all about Pangaea, Mountain building, strata and Ancient Oceans over a coffee in the Trust cafรฉ in Boscastle – we went in search of real rocks. Over the next 2 hours we saw evidence of sedimentary rock, metamorphic rock, lots of strata and fantastic folds and thrusts. As one person said ‘It’s amazing what you can see with the help of a guide – it would just be a standard cliff otherwise’
